This is an all around interesting site with a lot of valuable technical information. I find this site inspiring; it's simple in presentation yet it really seems to fufill the open exchange-of-information philosophy for which I believe the Internet is intended.

The Guardian

The Guardian is a London based newspaper (and website) that is widely considered to be one of the best news sources in the world. The Guardian often carries stories which are less mainstream than the BBC, and presents (in my opinion) a much less biased and more international view of events than the New York Times.

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an organization which develops and maintains the standards applicable to the 'World Wide Web', such as the HTML language and CSS standards. It is the authority for any questions relating to the technical aspects of (non-proprietary) web development.

Hack In The Box is a comprehensive security related site and community (forum). The site contains extensive information and discussion as well as an excellent daily-updated news section that covers current digital technology and security events.
